As an electrical products supplier, we have spent considerable time, money, and resources to ensure our operations as a supplier are efficient. We feel this translates into trust; we can be trusted to be more consistent in delivery of products and services due to operational transparency, training and systems support.

Central Distribution Model:

At our ISO 9001 Central Distribution Center, we manage over 20,000 SKU which are bar coded, received, put-away, cycle counted, picked and transferred using a wireless, paperless warehouse management software system. In large part due to our ERP, Warehouse Management Software and internal processes, our customers receive the right product when they require it. This is evidenced by our picking accuracy, order fulfillment, number of shipments per order, number of back orders, and inventory on-hand. Six EBH branch locations use the same technology in their locations to manage their inventory levels.

As an electrical products supplier, we realize that we must be efficient in moving goods from our manufacturer’s partner’s warehouse to our Distribution Center - and then out to our branches that serve the local community. Electrical supply does not work without a managed, evaluated, measured, and continuously improved inventory system.

With tailored inventory by branch, E.B. Horsman manages the inventory requirements (electrical supplies) of our customers and branches centrally, which contributes to our operational efficiency. Our 21 branches are able to share inventory with each and every EBH branch, in a highly efficient and cost effective manner that ensures on time delivery with virtually no additional cost to our customers. We are able to transfer products between seventeen branches on an overnight basis with the remaining branches being served in two business days throughout British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

As an electrical supplier our logistics must also be operationally efficient. Where possible, we have agreed upon freight and logistics companies and policies to move product throughout Canada and US. We have an extensive network of freight companies that service the communities, towns and cities appropriate to their business.

ISO 9001:2015 E.B. Horsman & Son’s quality system was officially recognized as meeting the requirements of the ISO 9001, international standard for quality assurance. The current scope of registration includes our Head Office and Distribution Center located in Campbell Heights, and our Surrey Sales Branch, Data Communications, Projects Division, and Process, Automation & Controls Division located in Surrey.

We feel that our ISO 9001 registration best exemplifies our commitment to servicing our customers, strengthening our relationships with our electrical suppliers, and building the internal mechanisms necessary to ensure that we are the Electrical Distributor of Choice entering the twenty-first century.

Business Continuity

Quality Policy

E.B. Horsman & Son, is committed to servicing our customers, supplier partners and protecting our assets at all times, including in times of emergency. As part of this commitment, E.B. Horsman & Son maintain a Business Continuity Disaster Recovery Plan to evaluate the impact of significant events that may adversely affect customers, suppliers, assets, or employees.

The Plan provides for sustainable operating environments during any crisis or major business interruption that adversely impacts E.B. Horsman & Son ability to conduct business. The Plan addresses various scenarios including but not limited to an IT or operation disruption, regional disruption, complications arising from a building disturbance or a pandemic incident.

E.B. Horsman & Son has developed multiple work area recovery strategies to provide continuous support. These strategies include but are not limited to: work displacement, alternate physical facilities, and remote access.

The Plan is maintained by our Business Continuity committee and was developed to provide recovery strategies for all of our locations. The plan is updated as necessary and reviewed quarterly.
